What is hypnotherapy?

Hypnosis is achieved by using several techniques to induce a trance state.  Unlike what you may have been led to believe, it is not a state where you become out of control, but merely one where your subconsious mind takes over.


You will more than likely have been in a state of hypnosis at some point today - we can all recognise being deeply involved in a book, or TV program so that we are aware of nothing else.  Car drivers will also make trips and often have no recollection of how they got to a certain place, their subconscious takes over.  Hypnotherapy involves the therapist helping the client into this natural, relaxed state and using suggestions to make positive changes to the subconscious thought processes.


In working with clients, I ensure a personalised script, tailored to each individual client.  Making hypnotherapy scripts unique to each client means suggestions are directed to the individual and not generally, allowing them to be encorporated more readily into the subconscious meaning new behaviours and changes are more likely to be achieved.
